Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories seeks a Biomedical Refrigeration Specialist to maintain and repair laboratory refrigeration systems, including ultra-low temperature freezers and biomedical refrigerators, ensuring regulatory compliance and reliable operation.

You will inspect components, perform calibrations, and document service activities while coordinating with laboratory staff and vendors to minimize downtime and protect specimen integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years experience in refrigeration/HVAC repair, preferably biomedical/lab.
• Current refrigeration certification (EPA 608 Type I–III or Universal).
• Valid state driver's license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on laboratory refrigeration systems (ULT freezers, biomedical refrigerators, cryogenic units).
• Install, test, and calibrate new lab refrigeration equipment per specs.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and use diagnostic tools to verify performance.
• Document all service activities and maintain calibration records per CAP/CLIA/Joint Commission.
