Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Biomedical Refrigeration Specialist to inspect, maintain, calibrate and repair specialized laboratory refrigeration systems used in clinical and research environments.

You will work on ultra-low temperature freezers (−40°C to −86°C), biomedical refrigerators and freezers, refrigerated centrifuges and incubators, ensuring patient testing materials and reagents remain protected and compliant with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of refrigeration/HVAC repair experience, preferably in biomedical or laboratory settings.
• Current refrigeration certification (EPA 608 Type I–III or Universal; NATE or HVAC Excellence).
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory refrigeration systems.
• Ensure cold-storage equipment supporting patient testing and specimens operate safely and compliantly.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals; document maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with clinical staff and vendors as needed.
• Travel to multiple Banner Health facilities as required.
