Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories in Phoenix seeks a Biomedical Refrigeration Specialist to inspect, maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory refrigeration systems. You will work on ultra-low temperature freezers and biomedical refrigerators, ensuring patient testing materials stay within required specifications.

Responsibilities include documentation, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with lab staff and vendors to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years refrigeration or HVAC repair experience, preferably biomedical or lab.
• Current refrigeration certification (EPA 608 I–III or Universal, NATE, HVAC Excellence).

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on lab refrigeration systems (ULT freezers, biomedical refrigerators, cryogenic units).
• Install and calibrate new lab refrigeration equipment per specs.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and use diagnostic tools to verify performance.
• Document all service activities in CMMS and maintain calibration/maintenance records.
• Stay current with refrigeration tech and regulations; assist with non-refrigerated equipment as needed.
• Communicate service needs and timelines with staff and vendors.
