Chenega Corporation's Wallops Flight Facility Firefighter/EMT position provides emergency response, firefighting, rescue, and medical services for personnel and facilities. The incumbent performs EMT care within certification scope, supports training and equipment inspections, and participates in technical rescues

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must hold DoD/IFSAC, Pro Board, or State Firefighter I certification.
• Must hold DoD/IFSAC, Pro Board, or State Firefighter II certification.
• Commonwealth of Virginia EMT certification.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certification.
• FEMA NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800.

Responsabilités

• Respond to fire, rescue, medical, hazardous materials, aircraft-related, and other emergency incidents.
• Perform firefighting, rescue, patient care, and incident stabilization activities.
• Assess emergency situations and implement response strategies to protect life and property.
• Provide emergency medical care, basic patient assessment, treatment, and stabilization.
• Participate in search and rescue operations, victim removal, and patient transport support.
• Support emergency response operations involving launch facilities, aircraft activities, and industrial systems.
• Operate safely under stressful, rapidly evolving conditions.
• Deploy and operate firefighting equipment and related tools.
• Perform vehicle and machinery extrication using hydraulics and rescue tools.
• Participate in technical rescue operations (confined spaces, rope, trench, structural).
• Assist in hazardous materials response activities within training and certification requirements.
• Operate in environments requiring respiratory protection and PPE.
• Complete reports, inspections, trainings, and inventories timely.
• Support fire prevention and public safety initiatives and pre-fire planning.
