Job summary

Matheny Motor Truck Company in Oakland Park, FL is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel/EV Technician to join the Fire and Emergency Team. The role requires detailed electrical knowledge, experience across 12 VDC and 120/240 VAC, and proficiency with PMs, brakes, and electrical harness assembly.

Candidates should have CDL Class B with Air and a strong technical track record. ASE/EVT certifications are preferred, and a background in truck or automotive electrical work within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• ASE Certification preferred
• EVT Certification preferred
• Truck mechanic experience – mid-level
• High school diploma or GED
• CDL Class B with Air
• Electrical experience
• Preferred 4+ years of truck or automotive electrical in manufacturing environment
• Unrestricted CDL and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fire pump issues
• Diagnose and repair aerial ladder issues
• Assemble under dash harnesses, switch panels, or circuit boards
• Program lights to customer specifications
• Troubleshoot 12V DC and 120V AC circuits
• Test products to meet customer specs
• Read specs to ensure trucks are built per spec
• Maintain clean, safe work area
• Identify and fix quality issues
• Communicate issues or delays to management
• Perform other duties as assigned
