Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. You will operate aboard domestic and international flights, assess risks, and respond to incidents with limited backup.

This demanding federal law enforcement role requires discretion, physical readiness, firearms proficiency, and the ability to work independently under pressure. Travel is frequent and assignments can be irregular.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience or a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or a qualifying combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain proficiency for federal duties.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and multi-agency coordination as required.
• Identify witnesses or suspects and execute warrants within legal authority.
• Participate in law enforcement operations with federal, state, and local partners.
• Support transportation-security missions on ground and air.
• Engage in specialized assignments, including Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations.
