Job summary

AVANTech, LLC is seeking contractor TIG Welders for premium per diem compensation. You will weld pipe from 1/2" to 36" in all positions and perform 6G position tests.

You must operate a high frequency amperage control foot pedal and perform GTA welding on carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex stainless steel while interpreting drawings and welding symbols. A 4 day work week is offered with a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to weld pipe diameters ranging from 1/2" to 36" in all positions.
• Able to operate a high frequency amperage control foot pedal while welding.
• Must be able to weld structural steel in all positions.
• Must be able to identify which type of filler wire to use for a given base metal.

Responsibilities

• All welds must pass ASME pressure vessel and piping codes.
• Prep pipe fittings and pipe ends for full penetration welds on pipe assemblies.
• GTA weld on carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex stainless steel.
• Interpret drawings and welding symbols used to fabricate piping assemblies or skids.
• Calculate pipe fittings take-outs and piping measurements.
