Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a security officer to protect patients, staff and visitors. The role involves patrolling campuses, responding to calls, controlling access, and escorting unauthorized persons from the property.

You will support safety operations and historical incident reporting. Responsibilities include documenting incidents, maintaining logs, and assisting with training of new security staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security experience preferred (campus/hospital/security).
• PA ACT 235 Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s License required to work at certain Jefferson locations.
• Must understand responsibilities and technology of the 24-hour SRC.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and E-mail.

Responsibilities

• Patrol fixed posts or on foot, responding to calls for service.
• Check identification badges and escort unauthorized persons off campus as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and inform supervisor; diffuse incidents if able.
• Investigate and document accidents, incidents or suspicious activities; maintain patrol logs.
