Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level, including detention of violators and enforcement of import/export laws.
• Master's degree or higher or two years of graduate education, or LL.B./J.D. may substitute experience to meet education requirements.
• Combination of specialized experience and education may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using proper law enforcement methods.
• Enforcing laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and international shipping to and from the United States.
• Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments.

Education

Master's degree or higher

LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university
