Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks entry-level CBPOs with strong integrity and decision-making to safeguard borders and facilitate trade. You will join a large federal workforce, receive substantial recruitment incentives, and start at a GS-9 level with a path to higher grades based on performance and time in service.

Qualifications

• Experience: minimum one year of specialized experience including detaining violators, enforcing import/export laws, and performing risk assessments.
• Education Substitution: master’s degree or higher, or two+ years of graduate education, or an LLB/JD.
• Combination of Experience and Education: mix of both will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Detaining suspected violators and enforcing laws related to imports/exports and international shipping.
• Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify threats and assess risk.
• Conducting interviews for information gathering to determine actions.
