Job summary

Brown University Athletics and Recreation seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide medical care and education to student-athletes in Providence, RI. You will work under the Associate Director of Athletics, Sports Medicine and serve as the primary trainer for assigned sports, ensuring safety, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in athletic training, RI license, and BOC certification, with at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training and appropriate licensure/certification.
  • BOC certification and RI licensure required (to be obtained prior to hire).
  • Minimum one year of athletic training experience with student-athletes.
  • Emergency Cardiac Care certification as required; AED/CPR certification current.
  • Continued CEUs to maintain BOC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care, emergency response, and injuries management for Brown student-athletes.
  • Lead rehabilitation and return-to-play under supervision of Sports Medicine leadership.
  • Educate staff and athletes on injury prevention and health education.
  • Serve as primary athletic trainer for assigned sports and maintain medical records.
