Job summary

Ameri-Force, Inc. is seeking a 1st Class Marine Electrician for shipyard work in the Norfolk, VA area.

The ideal candidate will have strong shipboard electrical experience, HII badge eligibility, and hands-on knowledge of NAVSEA electrical drawings, CTWDS, WAFs, electrical testing equipment, and power hookups. Candidates must be able to work independently, follow shipyard and NAVSEA requirements, and complete assigned electrical work safely and accurately.

Qualifications

• Must be a 1st Class Marine Electrician with shipyard/naval vessel experience.
• Must meet applicable HII badge/access requirements.
• Experience with CTWDS and closing out assigned work.
• Understand WAF opening and closeout procedures.
• Proficient in reading NAVSEA electrical drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on experience using multimeters and Meggers.
• Must have power hookup experience.
• Strong understanding of marine electrical systems and shipyard practices.
• Able to work safely in a shipyard/industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment.
• Read NAVSEA drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Demonstrate CTWDS closeout procedures.
• Understand WAF opening/closeout processes.
• Perform electrical testing using multimeters, Meggers and similar equipment.
• Perform power hookups as required.
• Verify circuits, connections, and equipment for proper operation.
• Follow shipyard safety procedures and quality standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete work efficiently.
• Maintain documentation for completed electrical work.
