Job summary

Colonna’s Shipyard, Inc. is seeking a 1st Class Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems aboard ships and within shipyard facilities in Norfolk, VA. The role requires reading blueprints, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrician experience or completed registered apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems aboard vessels or in shipyard facilities.
• Proven ability to test, diagnose and resolve electrical issues with appropriate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures and control equipment aboard vessels and in shipyard facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems to ensure safety and performance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layouts.
• Test electrical systems using appropriate devices to ensure proper function.
• Diagnose issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
