Job summary

Savista, LLC in Texas is hiring an Eligibility Specialist I to support patients navigating Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity programs. This full-time, in-person role at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite offers schedule: Sun 8:00am–4:30pm and Mon-Thu 10:00am–6:30pm, with flexible coverage for business needs.

You will meet patients, assess eligibility, guide them through applications, and document interactions while upholding HIPAA and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • 1+ year in a customer-facing role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Tech-savvy; able to navigate multiple software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance programs.
  • Engage patients by phone to complete screenings and required documentation.
  • Guide patients through Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and hospital charity care applications.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff and government agencies to secure coverage and resolve issues.
  • Manage a high case load, meet deadlines, and uphold KPIs.
  • Explain financial responsibilities and assistance options clearly and empathetically.
  • Maintain confidential HIPAA-compliant records and use multiple systems to document information.
  • Support operational needs, including local travel to nearby hospital locations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
