Job summary

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) seeks an Eligibility Interviewer to determine eligibility for Nutrition Assistance, Medical Assistance and Cash Assistance. This is an on-site, in-office position.

You will work in a fast-paced office, assist clients in person or by phone, and complete data entry during the interview process. Training is provided, with a focus on quality customer service and accurate determinations.

Qualifications

• Experience performing eligibility reviews or equivalent customer service is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to evaluate information and make determinations, and explain eligibilityrequirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in person and by phone in a fast-paced office.
• Attend paid classroom training with on‑the‑job training.
• Provide excellent service to individuals and families facing challenges.
• Collect information to determine eligibility for Medical, Nutrition, and Cash Assistance.
• Complete applications while on calls and enter data across multiple screens.
• Follow agency standards for accuracy, attendance, and timeliness.
