La Plata County Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Technician I to connect residents with food, Medicaid, child care and cash benefits. The role involves interviewing applicants, processing applications and referring clients to additional services, with extensive data entry using CBMS and related systems.

The position requires excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex eligibility rules.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; two years of clerical or data entry experience.
Experience with data entry, eligibility interviews, and use of data management systems.
Excellent computer skills and ability to interpret regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

Interview applicants and determine eligibility for program(s).
Enter and analyze data using CBMS and other interfaces; maintain accurate case histories.
Explain benefits and resources to clients; complete referrals and documentation.
Attend trainings and meet accuracy benchmarks; work under supervision as needed.
