Job summary

American Elevator Group in New York is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to serve the Brooklyn/NYC Metro area. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining elevators, diagnosing issues, and providing exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of mechanical experience, an ability to read technical documents, and a preference for CET certification. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and a competitive 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a route mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect elevators, making repairs and adjustments.
  • Diagnose equipment deficiencies and recommend changes.
  • Install, maintain, and repair elevators and escalators.

Skills

5+ years of experience as a Mechanic
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical malfunctions
Experience as a route mechanic
Previous experience with rack & pinion and/or crane repair

Education

CET certification preferred

Job description

Precision is a part of American Elevator Group (AEG) company, a collection of well-established elevator service companies operating across the United States. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to work in the Brooklyn/ NYC Metro area.

In this role, you will be providing monthly service to our customer's elevators ensuring that the equipment is functioning properly. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctioning systems, repairing or replace defecting parts.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for inspecting elevators of all types and makes, determining the cause of faulty operation, making repairs and adjustments, and troubleshooting problems.
  • Ability to diagnose deficiency of equipment and make recommendations for major changes or requirements.
  • Install, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, and other lifting equipment
  • Knowledge and ability to analyze and repair failures, especially in emergency situations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Respond to emergency repair calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building owners and occupants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Successful candidates will possess 5+ years of experience as a Mechanic
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and/or related technical documents
  • Experience as a route mechanic
  • Ability to follow established safety, maintenance and/or testing procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Previous experience with rack & pinion and/or crane repair experience is helpful
  • CET is strongly preferred.
