With continued business growth and increasing customer demand, we're looking to add an experienced Elevator Mechanic to our team. We are interested in individuals who bring strong technical expertise, take ownership of their work, and enjoy solving problems in a hands-on environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic who values independence, enjoys variety in their workday, and wants to join a close-knit company that recognizes hard work and rewards efficiency.

What You'll Do

As an Elevator Mechanic, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing elevator and lift systems at customer locations throughout El Dorado Hills and southern California.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial elevators, wheelchair lifts, stair lifts, and dumbwaiters.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and implement effective, long-term solutions.
  • Independently manage assigned service calls, including scheduling, travel coordination, and customer communication.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.
  • Lead and coordinate city and state elevator inspections, ensuring equipment meets applicable safety codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Work independently on service routes or collaborate with crews of 2–3 mechanics on installation projects.
  • Complete accurate service reports, punch lists, photographs, and other required job documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, providing updates on service needs, repairs, and project progress.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation using company-provided systems.
  • Travel to assigned job sites throughout California, including occasional overnight stays as needed.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For

Qualifications
  • Valid CCCM license required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional elevator mechanic experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controller-related issues.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, or repairing residential and/or commercial elevator systems.
  • Ability to lead or supervise city and state elevator inspections.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple service calls or project assignments independently.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate service reports, punch lists, and written communications.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional approach when working in residential and commercial environments.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of an installation crew.
  • Willingness to travel 100%, including overnight stays when required.
  • Availability to work overtime based on business needs.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Training may be provided if not already certified.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience working with elevator controllers or programmable control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex elevator electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Previous experience managing independent service routes.
  • Experience working with both residential and commercial elevator equipment.

Martin Elevators offers competitive hourly compensation and a benefits package designed to support employees both on and off the job.

  • $40.00-$70.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
