Job summary

Banton Elevator LLC in New York City is seeking a skilled Elevator Mechanic to join our team in the tri-state area. This hands-on role involves maintaining and repairing elevator systems across residential and commercial buildings, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

You'll work a Monday–Friday schedule 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with overtime as needed, perform inspections, read blueprints, and adhere to NYC codes and ASME A17.1 standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Valid NYC Elevator Mechanic License.
• Experience maintaining and repairing elevator systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• OSHA safety training and clean driver’s license.
• Ability to work both independently and on a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair elevator and lift systems in residential and commercial buildings
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hydraulic and traction elevator systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions and implement effective repairs
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Ensure all work complies with NYC elevator codes, safety regulations, and ASME A17.1 standards
• Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed
