Job summary

SEPTA in Philadelphia is seeking an Elevator & Escalator Repairperson Specialist (1170) to troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, adjust, assemble and disassemble elevators, escalators, and related equipment.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and 3 years of electro-mechanical experience; candidates must have a valid driver's license and pass a pre-employment written test. Wage starts at $40.04/hour and rises to $44.89 after one year of service, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus two years technical electro-mechanical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Three years of relevant work experience; trade school curriculum may substitute for up to one year of experience.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must pass pre-employment written test.

Responsibilities

• Be proficient in installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and adjustments of elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
• Read control schematics and identify components and their functions.
• Inspect, disassemble, install, and test motor controls and components on elevators/escalators.
• Diagnose malfunctions; troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems related to elevators and escalators.
