Floor Assembler Job Summary

Floor Assembler assembles fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations and tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.

Performs assembly using hand tools and power tools in accordance with product specifications.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials; positions parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements; assembles components, ensuring correct fit and fastening; verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notifying supervisors for additional resources.
  • Maintains equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs; maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
