Job summary

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) of the State of South Carolina seeks an investigator/auditor to conduct comprehensive inspections and audits of elevators, escalators, moving walks, and amusement rides. You will prepare written reports and follow up on corrective actions.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma with investigations experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in investigations or law enforcement; a bachelor’s degree may substitute.
• Three years of directly related experience preferred.
• NAESA QEI Certification and NAARSO certification or ability to obtain within three years.
• Strong knowledge of SC Elevator and Amusement Rides safety codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and audits of elevators, escalators, moving walks, and amusement rides.
• Inspect new installations and alterations of elevators and related equipment.
• Submit written reports with findings and recommendations for citations.
• Report audit findings, conduct follow-up reviews, and address deficiencies.
• Promote safe assembly and operation of elevators and amusement rides.
