Job summary

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) in South Carolina seeks an investigator to conduct complex investigations into violations of state statutes and regulations affecting licensees of state boards. You will draft subpoenas, document interviews, and maintain comprehensive case files while collaborating with IRC and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.

You will work with various officials at local, state, and federal levels, presenting findings to the IRC and ensuring evidence

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and experience conducting investigations or performing other law enforcement duties (a bachelor’s degree may substitute).
• Prior investigative or regulatory investigations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of acceptable legal principles and practices.
• Ability to establish good relations with officials and the public.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine, complex, and sensitive investigations of violations of state statutes and regulations governing licensees of state boards within agency timescales.
• Draft subpoenas for relevant documents and interview witnesses; prepare written reports and maintain case files.
• Collaborate with local, state, and federal officials and agencies.
• Attend and present case findings to the Investigative Review Committee.
• Work with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel on legal issues or evidence sufficiency.
