Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate's Degree upon appointment.
• Must pass oral interviews.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation prior to employment.
• Must reside within 15 miles of Wellesley, MA within one year of appointment.
• Must be certified and in good standing with the National Decertification Index (NDI).
• Must be of good moral character and fit for employment as determined by the POST Commission.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling assigned areas and conducting routine traffic enforcement.
• Investigating felonies and other crimes; gathering evidence and testifying in court.
• Directing traffic and providing community policing to enhance public safety.
• Participating in selection guidelines and ongoing training as required.
