Job summary

Christopher House seeks an Art Workshop Teacher to provide standards-based visual arts instruction aligned with a rigorous college prep curriculum. You will coordinate all outside arts partnerships and collaborate with staff to integrate arts across classrooms.

The role includes assessing student progress, maintaining records, and engaging families through strong parent-teacher relationships to support student growth and creativity.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years teaching experience in an urban setting is strongly preferred.
• Bi-lingual skills in Spanish highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education is required.
• Type 03 or Type 04 Certification is required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Endorsement in visual arts is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide standards-based instruction in visual arts education that complements the school’s college prep curriculum.
• Coordinate all outside arts partnerships.
• Complete necessary assessments, reports, and records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align arts with classroom learning when possible.
• Develop and manage partnerships and a culminating activity for each partnership.
• Support school culture and communicate with families about arts programs.
