Qualifications

  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Visual Art (PreK-8) is required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of elementary art education and effective instructional practices.
  • Ability to use assessment data to support student growth and improve instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach visual art to students in kindergarten through grade 4.
  • Plan engaging, standards-based instruction developing artistic skills and media knowledge.
  • Create an inclusive, safe classroom that encourages creativity, risk-taking and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Design and implement authentic assessments and use data to inform instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and establish high expectations for students.
