Job summary

Carlisle Public Schools seeks an Elementary Art Teacher for grades K-4 as a one-year, full-time long-term substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will foster creativity, inclusivity, and a love of the arts while partnering with staff and families to support student growth.

The ideal candidate holds valid Visual Art (PreK-8) licensure with a strong foundation in elementary art education, developmentally appropriate practices, and data-informed instruction to advance artistic

Qualifications

Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Visual Art (PreK-8) is required.
Demonstrates knowledge of elementary art education and effective instructional practices.
Ability to use assessment data to support student growth and improve instruction.

Responsibilities

Teach visual art to students in kindergarten through grade 4.
Plan engaging, standards-based instruction developing artistic skills and media knowledge.
Create an inclusive, safe classroom that encourages creativity, risk-taking and respect for diverse perspectives.
Design and implement authentic assessments and use data to inform instruction.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and establish high expectations for students.
