Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 9 hours in the tutored subject.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements and/or 9 hours in subject.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area.

Responsibilities

• Follow the classroom teacher’s instructional design for each student.
• Implement targeted instructional program as designed by teachers or specialists.
• Plan and use appropriate strategies, activities, and materials for learning styles.
• Conduct ongoing formative assessments and report results to teacher.
• Document tutoring sessions, times, and skills addressed daily.
• Maintain daily Extra Duty Request forms if required.
• Create a conducive learning environment and manage behavior.
• Communicate with teachers regarding student behavior plans.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain open communication with students, principals, and teachers.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and students.
• Present information clearly and accurately.
• Compile and file reports and records as required.
• Be a positive role model and support school district mission.
