Job summary

East Hartford Public Schools are seeking an Elementary Tutor to support targeted instructional areas and student learning. The position involves helping with basic skills, tutoring small groups, monitoring homework centers, and supporting suspended or expelled students as part of the school program.

Six hours per day for ten months, with salary paid hourly and benefits consisting of medical coverage. Reports to the Principal and works in collaboration with teachers and families to improve

• Bachelor's degree required.

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL

Provides support to specialized area of instruction as specified in the State of Connecticut Priority School District Grant, i.e. dropout prevention, early childhood education and parent involvement. Areas of involvement are teacher directed student academic reinforcement activities, school homework program, testing, home/school relations, verbal and document translation, assisting suspended and expelled students, study and organizational skills, conflict resolution and peer mediation.
