Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• CPR/AED certification for Physical Education teachers (to be maintained while holding the position).
• Knowledge of core academic subject and curriculum; ability to instruct students and manage behavior; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and show evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional materials and technology aligned to student needs and TEA guidelines.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise work of instructional aides and volunteers.
