Job summary

Collins Elementary in Grand Rapids, Michigan seeks an Elementary Building Teacher – Long Term Substitute to cover a 2026-2027 school year. The role pays $120/day for the first 10 days, then $130/day thereafter, with official start date to be determined.

Reports to the Building Principal and requires Michigan certification for K-5 instruction. The substitute will teach junior kindergarten through 6th grade content, follow district curricula, assess students, and collaborate with special education

Qualifications

• State of Michigan Teacher Certification is required.
• Elementary K-5 All Subjects (ZG) endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with the district-provided curriculum.
• Assess students' proficiency levels and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians.
• Adhere to FERPA regulations and district policy when working with confidential data.
