Qualifications

• All instructional personnel shall be certified and licensed in accordance with state law and the regulations of the Mississippi Department of Education. Such licensure and transcripts of credits shall be on file in the office of the Superintendent of Education.
• In accordance with Mississippi Code S37-9-17, all personnel employed by the public-school system shall be required to pass a criminal background check and a current child abuse registry check.
• A satisfactory employment record.

Responsabilités

• Abide by the standards of conduct as defined by the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics.
• Plan, organize and conduct a program of instruction based on the Mississippi Standards/Frameworks.
• Assume custody of the pupils assigned to their care and ensure pupil safety and welfare.
• Participate in pre-school conferences and in-service training programs.
• Perform extra-curricular duties assigned by the principal.
• Coordinate with other staff and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Keep classes in session during school hours with proper consent for dismissal.
• Be responsible for school property and equipment entrusted to them.
• Maintain student conduct and implement district policies and grading/reporting standards.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate into learning experiences.
• Conduct ongoing assessment and adjust methods to fit student needs, including special needs.
• Provide lesson plans for replacements during absences.
• Promote a safe classroom environment and effective learning conditions.
• Notify administration of anticipated absences and obtain prior approval.
• Encourage parental involvement and effective communication with students and parents.
• Adhere to district rules and avoid doctrinal teaching.
• Pursue professional development and stay current in education.
• Maintain cordial relations with home and parents and keep them informed.
