Education: Bachelor's degree and valid Indiana Teacher's license or eligibility to receive a valid Indiana Teacher's license or permit in Elementary Education.

Experience: Professional experience in the employment discipline with professional, technical, and experience requirements. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

References: Minimum of two (2) professional references required, including most recent supervisor and/or supervising student teacher mentor.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in achieving the short and long-term educational goals of the school corporation.
  2. Serve as the instructional leader in the classroom.
  3. Design and conduct learning situations instructing students in the content of one's respective discipline per the MCS adopted curriculum, course of study, and Indiana Academic Standards.
  4. Stimulate each student to pursue an honest, responsible, and fruitful life, fostering a sense of competency and productivity.
  5. Encourage students through a positive attitude to utilize every opportunity for constructive learning.
  6. Acquire knowledge about individual students to help them plan and conduct personalized learning experiences.
  7. Teach students to recognize fact, opinion, theory, bias, and propaganda, and evaluate these critically.
  8. Participate in curricular and program development with school leaders to meet students' needs.
  9. Engage in in-service professional development programs.
  10. Follow established policies and recommend changes when appropriate.
  11. Confer with students and parents at scheduled times.
  12. Sponsor and supervise extracurricular activities, chaperone school events, and monitor assigned areas.
  13. Involve students and parents in planning, implementing, and evaluating units of study.
  14. Execute teaching activities meaningfully and constructively.
  15. Evaluate student progress, assign grades, and maintain attendance records.
  16. Manage classroom discipline and conduct parent conferences.
  17. Supervise paraprofessionals, students, and volunteers.
  18. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
