Organization Overview

Job Summary

An NCN Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom culture where students are joyfully engaged, meaningfully on-task, and feel ownership for their success. Teachers help students learn academic, social, and essential life skills.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  1. Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these to students.
  2. Plan and execute engaging lessons in a logical scope and sequence.
  3. Conduct activities that provide opportunities for observation, questioning, and investigation.
  4. Use student data to assess mastery and progress toward achievement goals.
  5. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.
  6. Develop classroom management systems that motivate students academically and character-wise.
  7. Implement feedback and professional development learnings to support instruction and student success.
  8. Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, students, parents, and stakeholders.
  9. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and health.
  10. Participate in staff development and training.
  11. Engage in coaching, co-planning, and data meetings.
  12. Participate in special events as assigned.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid IN Teacher's License
  • Strong understanding of child development, pedagogy, and content
  • Passion for NCN's mission and values, love for working with children
  • Dedication to helping children grow and learn
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of teaching experience
