Job summary

Collegium Charter School is seeking a Student Support Specialist for an elementary setting to provide extended classroom support and follow-up for students needing intensive support or behavioral self-regulation guidance.

The role includes collaborating with the intervention team, communicating with administrators, collecting data, and ensuring fidelity of behavior interventions across locations, with supervision for out-of-class reinforcements.

Qualifications

• Background or experience working with a diverse population with diverse behavioral needs.
• Minimum of an associate's degree, preferred bachelor's degree.
• Registered Behavior Technician certification and/or elementary behavior response experience in a school setting and/or restorative practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students by teaching and modeling research/evidence based interventions as determined by the intervention team.
• Facilitate restorative meetings between staff and students, staff and staff, students and students.
• Collaborate with the intervention team and parents to develop and implement a plan with intervention strategies.
• Implement preventative strategies and reminders to reinforce expectations and incentives.
• Support students in staying in class or de-escalating as needed.
• Assist students in alternate locations completing academic work or activities.
• Document student time and behavior for teachers and intervention team.
• Provide direct support to staff by modeling evidence-based interventions.
• Assist with data collection for Functional Behavioral Analysis as directed by School Psychologist or BCBA.
• Ensure data in systems (PowerSchool, SWIS, restraint reporting, suspension log) is accurate and up-to-date.
• Abide by CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and PA Public School expectations.
