Job summary

Swartz Creek Community School District is seeking caring, motivated individuals to join our team as classroom assistants and support young learners within a nurturing environment.

Hours are Monday–Friday 8:45 AM–3:45 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. You will assist with lesson activities, monitor safety, and help maintain a positive classroom climate while collaborating with teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with preparation and organization.
• Support individual and small group learning activities.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide one-on-one support to students who need extra help.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning learning materials and classroom supplies.
• Monitor student safety and well-being throughout the school day.
• Record observations on student progress and report to the teacher.
• Encourage social skills and cooperation among students.
• Support students with self-care routines and independence skills.
• Assist in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
• Communicate respectfully with students, teachers, and parents as needed.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings.
