Job summary

Norwalk Community School District is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher (Strat I) for Oviatt Elementary. The role focuses on implementing approved curriculum, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support growth in academic and interpersonal skills.

The teacher will provide individualized and small group instruction, document progress, and align instruction with district and state requirements. A 190-day contract and district standards apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Iowa Teaching License with K-8 Instructional Strategist I or PreK-3 SPED endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers district curriculum aligned with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes safe, conducive learning environments for individualized and small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to optimize instructional time.
• Conducts ongoing assessment and adapts teaching for diverse learners.
• Maintains accurate records of student progress and attendance as required.
