Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education from an accredited college.
• Appropriate Massachusetts K-12 license and teaching experience.
• Experience in regular and/or special education settings preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and closing the achievement gap.
• Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills and standards-based instruction.
• Ability to design and implement standards-based instruction.

Responsibilities

• Direct assignment to building principal for routine admin matters and to Supervisor of Special Needs for service delivery.
• Perform duties listed herein and other tasks as assigned by Supervisor of Special Needs.
• In cooperation with evaluation team, perform diagnostic assessments for students with special needs.
• Consult with Regular and Special Education teachers to meet needs of students.
• Work with staff to promote maximum integration of children with special needs.
• Participate actively in evaluation processes and TEAM meetings.
• Chair perfunctory Review and Annual Review Meetings of students.
• Administer educational assessments for Annual Reviews and Re-evaluations.
• Assist in developing educational plans as directed by the Evaluation TEAM Chairperson.
• Ensure timely implementation of educational plans and confer with parents as needed.
• Maintain required records and submit schedules/reports to leadership.
