Job summary

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools (KPPS) is seeking a Special Education teacher to support inclusive classrooms across the city. You will design and deliver individualized instruction, implement IEPs/504s, and partner with families to drive student growth and equity.

A bachelor’s degree is required; PA certification levels I or II are preferred, and uncertified candidates may enroll within a year of hire. KPPS offers a comprehensive benefits package and salary transparency.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full-time SPED teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • PA State certification Level I or II strongly preferred; if uncertified, enroll in PA-approved certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Create inclusive, rigorous lesson plans and leverage provided curricula/resources.
  • Maintain IEPs/504s, evaluations, and ELL supports with fidelity.
  • Collaborate with families, instructional coaches, and specialists to support student growth.
  • Deliver engaging instruction, manage classrooms, and model school policies.
  • Attend designated school functions and participate in grade-level initiatives.
