Job summary

Oldham County Schools in La Grange Elementary seeks a qualified Special Education Teacher to implement individualized instruction, support diverse learners, and participate in a collaborative school community.

You will develop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards, maintain a positive classroom environment, and communicate regularly with families about student progress. This role reports to the Building Principal and the Assistant Director of Special Education.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education required.
Valid state teaching license or eligibility required.
Experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and growth mindset when working with children.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with student goals and standards.
Create a positive, safe, inclusive learning environment.
Administer formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
Regularly communicate with parents and guardians about student progress and concerns.
Collaborate with teachers, staff and administrators to meet individual student needs.
Maintain accurate documentation on student progress.
Participate in ongoing professional development.
