Job summary

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Music Teacher for the [2026-2027] opening. This full-time position serves grades K-5 with a focus on Specials and Electives and a commitment to anti-racism, equity, and joyful learning.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time teaching experience in an urban setting (preferred).
• Pennsylvania State certification Level I or II strongly preferred; if uncertified, enroll within one year of hire.
• Complete all required criminal and child abuse background checks prior to start date: PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, Cogent Fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all children feel affirmed, valued and challenged every day.
• Create rigorous, engaging unit and daily lesson plans leveraging provided curricula/resources.
• Infuse core values into daily lessons and school practices and implement school-wide student culture systems.
• Maintain a productive, organized, safe, neat and focused learning environment.
• Regularly analyze student work and data to adjust lessons and inform instruction.
• Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students.
• Maintain accurate student grades/records and communicate with families about student progress.
• Model and implement school policies within the classroom and serve as a role model for students.
• Take ownership of professional craft development; meet with instructional coach and apply feedback.
• Actively participate in school-wide professional development and collaborate with grade teams.
• Contribute to planning and execution of school-wide events and initiatives.
• Develop relationships with families through home visits, events, and communications.
