Job summary

Soliant in Darlington, SC is seeking an elementary Special Education Teacher for an in-person contract position. You will support students in a self-contained classroom, focusing on those with moderate intellectual disabilities and autism.

Starting as soon as possible, you’ll provide instruction aligned with IEP goals, develop engaging lessons, and partner with families and service providers to promote student growth and success.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education teaching certification required.
• Experience with elementary-aged students in self-contained classrooms preferred.
• Experience with students diagnosed with autism and/or moderate intellectual disabilities advantageous.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction tailored to individual needs, IEP goals, and learning styles within a self-contained classroom setting.
• Develop and implement lesson plans fostering both academic and social-emotional growth.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student progress.
• Monitor, document, and report student achievements and challenges.
• Foster a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment encouraging independence and self-advocacy.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse spectrum of student abilities.
