Job summary

Qualifications

• State certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligible)
• Experience with elementary students in resource or self-contained settings
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and differentiation
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and work within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and create individualized lesson plans based on IEP goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff to foster inclusion and student growth
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust strategies as needed to support success
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for improvement
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines
• Support a positive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and builds confidence
