Hillsdale Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the team at Gier Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a special education endorsement.
Compliance with all applicable federal and state qualification requirements.
Endorsement in Emotional Impairment (EI) or Cognitive Impairment (CI) preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to supporting the individual needs of elementary students.

Responsibilities

Provide specially designed instruction that meets students’ individual learning needs.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
