Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Understanding of disabilities and instructional requirements for various disabilities.
• Ability to create an effective classroom environment and manage behavior per district policy.
• Knowledge of learning styles and evaluating student progress with accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide instruction for students with disabilities under IDEA.
• Coordinate with Speech Language Pathologists, counselors, and therapists as part of the MDT.
• Maintain records and report data as required.
• Attend ARD/IEP meetings and develop goals and behavior plans.
• Deliver TEA/district approved curriculum per IEP and ARD decisions.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support student progress.
• Ensure safety and well-being of students and maintain orderly classrooms.
