Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas seeks an Elementary Special Education Manager to coach and develop a team of Special Education teachers, ensuring high-quality services per each student’s IEP. The role reports to the Principal and is 11-month, with a starting compensation of $70,500 annually.

The role emphasizes compliance, collaboration with campus leaders, and designing inclusive, rigorous instruction across classrooms to support students with disabilities and their families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in Special Education.
• Texas teaching certification in Special Education.
• Texas Bilingual certification within the first school year of employment.
• Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Responsibilities

• Setting Special Education objectives and key results for the year in alignment with campus priorities and data-driven strategies.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and standards-based outcomes.
• Participate in campus leadership planning to ensure accessible learning for all students.
• Lead co-teaching and rigorous instruction in specialized programs.
• Design and deliver professional learning on topics relevant to Special Education.
• Coach and support Special Education teachers and staff on instructional practices.
