Job summary

Denison Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Instructional Associate for the 2026-2027 school year. You will work closely with one or a few handicapped pupils, providing physical help and emotional support to help them benefit from the district's program.

Under the supervision of the special education teacher, you will assist with daily routines, supervise small groups, support learning activities, and help with materials, safety, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist student(s) with daily tasks such as moving, dressing, using facilities and classroom routines.
• Support small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Supervise students during recess, trips, and activities; maintain a safe environment.
• Provide a supportive and confidential relationship with students while not substituting for the teacher.
• Assist with learning materials, equipment setup, and classroom organization.
