Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; must pass or exempt GACE Basic Skills and Special Education tests.
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.
• Experience: None.
• Knowledge of areas of disability and special education practices; ability to implement data-driven instruction.
• Ability to lift a student up to 40 pounds and perform two-person lifts for heavier students.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Develops, implements, monitors IEPs and ILPs on caseload.
• Collaborates with general education teachers and parents/guardians.
• Maintains accurate paperwork within designated timelines.
• Delivers instruction aligned to IEPs and ILPs.
• Implements data-driven behavior management strategies (FBAs/BIPs).
• Utilizes formative and summative assessments and reports progress to parents/guardians.
• Maintains lesson plans per policies and directives.
• Meets the unique needs of students with severe disabilities as appropriate.
• Maintains professional communication with parents.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.
