Qualifications

• 2. Certification/License Required: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.
• 3. Experience: None.
• 4. Physical Activities: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; two-person lift for heavier students.
• 5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication; knowledge of disability areas; instructional strategies; behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Develops and reviews the IEP for each student on the caseload annually.
• Collaborates with general education teachers and families to implement services.
• Maintains lesson plans and records as required by district policy.
• Delivers instruction using data-driven behavior management plans and FBAs/BIPs.
• Monitors student progress and communicates updates to parents/guardians.
• Ensures compliance with special education regulations and district procedures.
• Serves as a resource to general education teachers for students with disabilities.
• Seeks professional growth through training and coursework.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administration.
