Job summary

LUBBOCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT’s Waters Elementary School seeks a Special Education Educational Aide to support students with disabilities. Under the supervision of a certified teacher, you will assist with self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities in a special education setting.

The role involves preparing instructional materials, supervising students, and helping with records, inventory, and substitute orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Education Agency Paraprofessional Educational Aide Certificate required.
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom; help with inventory and equipment.
• Maintain and prepare administrative records and reports; assist substitutes.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and mobility.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom (lunchroom, bus, playground).
