Job summary

Lubbock Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Educational Aide to assist a certified teacher in providing for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in an elementary/secondary setting. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Paraprofessional Educational Aide Certificate required.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and positioning.
• Assist with feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
• Help supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground times.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
